A Desperate President

I'm not totally sure if now is the time to get less scared or more scared.

I'm not sure when it happened, but Trump realized that he is not winning this election. He is not going to be close to winning this election. His only hope is with some sort of massive, countrywide election fraud, and/or some supreme court shenanigans. But even those seem less likely than they did a few weeks ago. 

If the pieces were enough in place to pull off a full on theft of the election, an election in which the polls look FAR better for Biden than they ever came close to looking for Clinton, I don't know why Trump and his goons would be getting this unhinged and, yes, dangerous. 

Trump and his cabal are no longer behaving like people who are not going to even deal with an election, as they have for much of the last 4 years. Now they are acting like people who know their days are numbered, so they basically just want to burn this country down between now and Inauguration Day.

Okay, the COVID thing. Does Trump really have it? Did he ever? 

We may never know the truth on this. At first I didn't doubt that the orange ape caught the virus, given his refusal to wear masks and his disinterest in doing anything else to prevent spread.

But everything since the announcement that he tested positive has come off as so staged and so fake and so secretive that I now don't really believe he has it. None of these doctors who have spoken publicly will answer any questions about any specifics of Trump's supposed case. Why the need for such secrecy? Is it because Trump has used this whole thing for propaganda?

The Trumpers buy every load of bullshit he sells them. They believed him for months that COVID was a hoax. That whole theory has been thoroughly destroyed on so many levels I've lost count. So now to change the narrative he spins a story that he had COVID, and beat it easily due to him being just that godly. So to his base he looks like even more of a tough guy hero. And then he goes right back to downplaying the seriousness of COVID, and holding rallies, and spreading the fucking virus. It's like he wants to make us all believe that he alone can stop this virus that he still pretends isn't really real.

This supposed treatment he supposedly got is not available to anyone anywhere on the planet. Yet we are to believe that whatever doctor or scientist cooked this cure up has sat on it and is sitting on it, only for it to be given to the orange ape.

Even if there is some cure that Trump alone has received, he will never allow the general public to have access to it. He wants people to suffer and die. That's why he has also decided to refuse any further negotiations on COVID relief. He is literally blackmailing people into voting for him if they want any help in the next 3 months.

He and Moscow Mitch are singularly interested now in ramming through Amy Cunty Barrett onto SCOTUS. Once that is done, Trump will be able to decimate this country even long after he has finally died. Fingers crossed that Biden is willing to "pack the court" cause if he isn't I don't see much point in anything for the next 40 years when the illegitimate far right SCOTUS can literally block anything Democrats would want to do, and undo anything they have already done.

And Trump is always.cool with stirring up some domestic terrorism. A whole group of MAGAts was just busted by the FBI for plotting to kidnap and then execute the governor of Michigan. And what was Trump's response to some of his terrorist buddies getting busted? To blame the governor. 

It's hardly a stretch to think that there are many more of these violent right wing groups out there, just biding their time. I still think that November 3rd is going to be a historically violent day in this country. Stories are already out of so-called "poll watchers" planning to go to Democrat heavy voting areas and intimidate and harass voters. Or worse.

Trump was a deranged lunatic during his debate. Pence was a misogynistic jackass during his. Neither one even attempted to pretend to tell actual voters what they might do for them. Because they no longer even care to win anyone over. They aren't even interested in the con anymore.

It's hard to believe the election is so close. I wish this could have been an exciting time, but in fact I dread what's to come. 

I worry for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. I don't doubt for one moment that there are some of these MAGAt terrorists out there plotting to kill one or both of them. Trump has made it quite clear that he has no intention of allowing a peaceful transfer of power when he loses. And he has shown in the past how keen he is on political assassinations. 

Something very bad is going to happen. There is no way this is going to be as simple as:

1. Biden wins the election big

2. Trump concedes without inciting massive violence or manipulating SCOTUS to erase the election

3. Trump just goes away quietly in January, Biden takes over, and America begins to repair the destruction

If we didn't know all that we know about Trump, maybe we could believe such a fantasy. But fantasies do not exist in this Trumpian nightmare.
