One last FUCK YOU to 2020

The year from hell in nearly every way imaginable, from the same stuff that made everyone suffer to the personal stuff in my life that piled onto the misery more and more.

Strangely it all really went to hell right after my birthday. 41 has sure sucked.

Perhaps I get too wrapped up in sports and movies but I think having those escapes ripped away for most of the year was the worst part.

2020 would have been a whole lot more tolerable if I was still able to go see Black Widow and Fast 9 and No Time To Die and countless others.

2020 would have been a whole lot more tolerable if we had a real baseball season and I could have gone to Target Field, or if I could have gone to Vikings games. Or Lynx games. Or Gopher football games. To say nothing of how COVID screwed up all those seasons to begin with. 

Fewest movies seen since probably 1994. First year with no Twins games since 2001. First year with no Vikings or Gopher football games since 2005. First year with no Lynx games since 2009. First year with no trip to the State Fair since at least 1991. This is the stuff that sustains me through the long, hard winter.

And who knows when this stuff will really be over. Sure the vaccines are slowly rolling out, but it seems dubious at best that sporting events will be opened up again anytime soon. Hopefully by next fall.

Movies are messed up forever. Theaters probably won't really be opened up full again for many months. Hopefully Black Widow in May. 

But at least Biden won. Holy shit at least we got THAT one. It would be beyond hopeless if the orange ape got re-elected.

But it doesn't salvage the hellscape that was 2020.

Awful NFL season ends with awful Super Bowl

BUCCANEERS 31 CHIEFS 9 The 2020 NFL season is over. Thank god! A season that was almost across the board unenjoyable, and felt empty and largely felt manipulated, ended with the worst outcome imaginable. With a result that not only continues this 20 year nightmare but that will frankly hurt the NFL for years to come. I was not looking forward to this game. I knew this was going to happen. Maybe not in blowout fashion but I knew the NFL was going to see to it that Tom Brady got his 7th title. The house wins. The game was never fun. Right from the start the Chiefs seemed sleepy, like they weren't really in it. This team plays with swagger, but in this game they had none. Patrick Mahomes was under enormous pressure from the start. The Chiefs grabbed the 1st lead at 3-0 but then from basically the end of the 1st quarter until halftime it was a nightmare.
