Election Eve 2024. Optimism...reigns?

I will always remember the moment I found out that Joe Biden, relentlessly badgered by a garbage media, had decided to drop out of the race for re-election. It was stunning, and frightening. In that moment, it felt like Donald Trump had just been handed back control of America.

But then I saw what a rush of energy this brought to everybody. The polls, for whatever they're worth, massively swung towards Kamala Harris. When she picked Tim Walz as VP, the roll continued. Harris crushed Trump in the debate so thoroughly that the rapist felon chickened out and never did a 2nd debate. Walz spanked the couch fucker in the VP debate. Trump kept on with his grievance tour, faking a couple assassination attempts along the way to try to gin up sympathy. 

The corporate media, embarrassingly still in love with the Trump circus, did the same thing they did in 16 and 20, jumping on any excuse to trash Harris (and still trash Biden whenever possible) while always whitewashing every insane thing Trump did. Hell, they just took it on Trump's word that his ear got shot despite zero evidence proving so.

And up until the very end they insist the race is a dead heat. Well of course it is, because that means more ratings for their overproduction TV, and more clicks and views. If they told the truth, that Harris is clearly going to win, and likely comfortably, that means fewer viewers and listeners.

I've been saying for a long time now, even when it was still Biden, that Trump wasn't going to win. My reason? Oh just every election cycle since 2016. Ever since that disaster, Trump and the party he consumed have been having their asses kicked. National, local, special. All elections. Even in red states. Dems have been way outperforming the polls and the predictions. Biden was supposed to lose, then the midterms were supposed to be a red wave. Wrong, wrong, wrong.

We're supposed to believe a country that has spent the last 7 years rejecting Trump and his party, is now going to abruptly reverse course and put the maniac back in charge? Look, America may be dumb, but we ain't THAT dumb. 

Kamala Harris will win. She may even win by MORE than Biden did.

So then what? Well, the (un?)intentional byproduct of all these polls and talking heads insisting the race is close or that Trump will win is that the rapist felon and all his MAGAt cult garbage (yes, that's what they are) will use these as proof that the election was stolen. You thought January 6th was bad? There will be dozens of these. Violence by the right is guaranteed. These people are violent to the core. They know this is their last chance to see their messiah in the White House. (No, he won't run in 2028. It's unlikely he'll even be alive) They won't accept this.

I would hope there have been precautions taken, but you can't stop every one of these domestic terrorists. The real dangers are probably for the people actually doing the counting. Every swing state will be plagued by violence or threatened violence.

And yeah, in the back of my mind there is still the worry that, regardless of Harris winning or by how much, that scumbag illegitimate SCOTUS will step in and just hand Trump the election. Now, if they tried this there would be 6 fresh corpses. This country won't just stand back and let that happen.

That's worst case scenario stuff.

I'm mostly entering this election way more optimistic than I was in either of the last 2 elections. Kamala Harris is about to be the first woman president, and to have a black woman deliver the death blow to the Trump era is as chef's kiss as it gets.

This is almost, finally, over.
