Vikes-Jags game blog
Can't tweet during games, so I'll just put some random game stuff in here.
--1st thing I did after getting back to my seat at the purple palace was to fix my eyes on about the 40 yard line and replay the Minneapolis Miracle in my head about 10 times.
--I bet if Kevin were here he'd try to get in fights with anybody wearing a Teddy jersey.
--How Mack AND Barr both gonna drop picks at once?
--1st team OL had a rough 2nd game, albeit against one of the best Ds in the league.
--Kai probably lost the kicking battle with that miss. If he hadn't already.
--Poor Blake Bortles. Not only is he left in to play the whole 1st half, but he isn't able to move the ball at all against our 2nd team defense.
--Mike Hughes looks great.
--SO MANY INJURIES
Overall this was the game that people point to when they say how bad preseason football is. This game was bad from an entertainment point of view. It was bad from a logical point of view, with awful penalties, including a roughing the passer call that may rank as the worst I've ever seen.
And as a Vikings fan, there's not a lot to love, aside from the defense exerting its authority. Mostly the big concern is the slew of injuries. Losing a couple more o-linemen isn't necessarily a big deal considering who went down, but they got another game in 6 days and may need to sign a couple FAs just to have enough bodies to play Seattle.
I still get chills/excited when I watch the Minneapolis Miracle. I’m going to have it played at my funeral.
ReplyDeleteI’m a little nervous about o-line injuries but I think the FO will sign the guys they need to. Maybe they’ll trade for a player but I’m not sure who they’d trade.
Also, these tackling rules are getting ridiculous. I blame Aaron. *insert “You dun messed up Ay-Ay-Ron” gif*
