The Captain Marvel conspiracy theorists: Down the rabbit hole of idiocy.

In the Trump era, it should be no surprise to see large groups of people completely deny reality in order to keep pushing their own insane agenda.

But I'm not here to talk about the MAGAts. This time the subject is the army of ardent Captain Marvel haters, these moronic, insecure nitwits who have made their last weeks and even months all about attacking this movie, and Brie Larson.

They tried their damndest to stir up enough hatred of Brie and this movie in order to stop it from becoming a smash hit, short of physically going to theaters and keep people from entering. Of course, such action would require venturing outside of their basements. Can't have that.

The movie of course did have a massive opening, breaking any number of records, emphatically kicking off yet another franchise within the MCU. You would hope that such a thorough ass kicking by the masses would cause the trolls to retreat back into their sewer, to take their well deserved L and shut up.

But no....these freaks have completely doubled down on their lunacy, and become hysterically delusional conspiracy theorists.

They already raged against Rotten Tomatoes prior to release, cause that website had the audacity to get rid of tons of obvious troll reviews, and the feature that lets you say you're not interested in seeing a film. Captain Marvel had been flooded with more of each, and faster, than any film ever. These were obvious trolls, and the site had every right to clean this up, yet the trolls took it as proof that the site was specifically biased towards "protecting" this one movie.

There was also the usual accusations that any professional critic who gave CM a good review was, you guessed it, paid by Disney to do so. That's an old conspiracy theory though.

These people were so convinced that, no, the moviegoing public does not want to see this SJW feminist Marvel movie, that Brie Larson was going to be the end of the MCU.

They really thought this movie was only gonna open to a mediocre 50 or 60 million. I wish I could have been a fly on the wall to see these people see that $150 million number come in.

But of course, this only kicked off round 2 of conspiracies. I've spent so much time(TOO much) consuming some of the posts and videos about this the last few days I feel like my brain began to melt.

The box office numbers are, you guessed it, FAKE NEWS.🤣😂🤣😂

Disney lied, you see. They made up that number to cover for the movie actually flopping. Never mind that there are lots of independent tracking organizations that actually are the ones who compile box office grosses. The only part the studios do is Sunday estimates, which can wind up either higher or lower than actuality. Oh, and if the studio could lie about their revenue and did so, that would be a little thing called fraud.

But it can't possibly have made that money, you see, because all these theaters were empty. I mean, they must have been, because "DCfan69" from Bumfuck, Alabama claims to have gone to the movie and took a picture of the theater and there were no people there. That's proof that all theaters are empty. As if every single available ticket at every showing at every theater in every city in America could EVER be sold. What would that be, like, $500 million in a weekend? More? I have no idea, and we'll never know, cause it is impossible.
I saw CM opening afternoon Friday in a packed theater, myself. Then I saw it again Tuesday afternoon in a moderately attended IMAX screening. The IMAX theater alone has probably 500 seats.

I could tell the movie was a smash just by going to be the AMC app and looking at available tickets for shows for CM. Last weekend every showing was either packed or damn close....but oh, the trolls have an excuse for that too.

All those tickets that were sold? Yep, Disney bought them themselves. Nope, fake people. Disney bought the tickets to make it LOOK like these showings were packed. What a brilliant business plan. How come all businesses don't do this? Just buy all your products yourself. I mean, sure, that's how you make money. The underpants gnomes had a better business plan. But hey, it must be true, cause clearly people can't possibly really be interested in this movie, led by, yuck, a GIRL.

But of course it was always going to be a hit, now say the same folks assuring us all of its demise, cause what competition did it have? A Madea movie? Disney fixed it this way,  cause obviously the way it works is that Disney had this movie and decided at the last minute to drop it on a weekend with no other big movies around. It couldn't possibly be that this release date was reserved literally YEARS ago, and it's the other studios choosing to put smaller, counter-programming movies into the couple weeks before and after Captain Marvel. Clearly this is the only big movie to be put out with the week or weeks before and after devoid of big releases. I mean, look at all those big movies coming out surrounding Endgame. And yes, this is also pre-emptively the excuse for Captain Marvel's big 2nd weekend, cause otherwise it would collapse due to this obvious lack of interest in the movie, and the fact that nobody likes the movie.

Oh, and the trolls are sure it's already collapsing at the box office. Why? Cause, get this, it made a lot less money on Monday than Sunday. A 70% drop screamed all their headlines. I mean, clearly the number of people who attend movies on those two days are identical. Oh they cited Black Panther as proof that thee is no dropoff like that, even though BP opened on a holiday weekend where most people had Monday off. But they didn't mention that part. Can't let facts or context get in the way.

They really have all their bases covered. Pre-release interest was fake. Opening weekend box office is fake. 2nd weekend box office will be fake. All those people who like the movie...fake. The SJWs have ruined Marvel. Even Endgame's box office will be wrecked now due to the feminist agenda. Just like Star Wars leading into Episode 9. We'll check back to that one when both flicks make about 2 billion worldwide.

Oh I almost forgot. You know how we got that Endgame trailer this week, and also the cool news that James Gunn is back on board Guardians 3? Those both happened because Disney wants to distract us from all their Captain Marvel shenanigans. They're even convinced there are two different cuts of Endgame: one with Captain Marvel, one without.

I'm sure the venn diagram of these people and the MAGAts is a near perfect overlap.

Comments

  1. When I heard that people were saying there were two different versions of the movie I literally laughed and thought what in the actual fuck. It was established after Infinity War that Captain Marvel would be playing a role in Endgame. Unless there were different end credit scenes. The remaining crowd at my theater went nuts when they showed her logo on Fury’s pager. (I still don’t understand why people leave early.)
I went Thursday night and I think the only empty seats were a few right in front of the screen and the theater south of me might have been completely sold out. And most people are in school or working on Mondays (unless it’s a holiday) so I’m assuming most theaters are pretty empty on Mondays. These idiots need to go outside.
