Twins lose a comedy of errors

Twins lose 9-6 in 10 to Seattle.

Is there anything worse than an amazing play or moment getting completely robbed of its meaning by still losing the game in which it occurred?

The Byron Buxton 2 run game tying homerun in the bottom of the 9th could have, would have, should have been the finest moment yet of this season, and one of the best Twins moments in years.

But it won't be, because the Twins collectively stopped playing after that.

3 straight weak ass ABs to send it to the 10th.
Officer Doofy can't keep the bases clean in the 10th, which leads to THREE errors.
Garver drops a throw from Cron that should have been an easy out at home. 1 run scores.
Sano both bobbles a simple grounder, then decides to throw so off balance that he was practically horizontal. 2 more runs score.
A hideous bottom 10 with embarrassing strikeouts by Rosario and Garver.

And let's not forget earlier mistakes, like letting Tommy Milone shut our bats down for the majority of the game, or the other.bullpen implosion courtesy of May and Parker.

The Twins are maintaining their AL Central cushion, but these ugly losses, and crushing bullpen implosions are starting to add up. The 5 errors are an anomaly. The bats being dominated by a junkballer is an anomaly. This bullpen shit isn't. It is not going to get better from within. We don't need much help to win the division probably. But god dammit we need at least FOUR new legit relief pitchers to have any chance to win 11 October games against the other AL behemoths and whoever we.would possibly face in the World Series. Blake Parker, Matt Magill, Trevor May and Tyler Duffey must never be allowed to see the mound in meaningful October moments.

  1. I’m not Catholic but I did the sign of the cross when May came out to pitch last night and said to my friend I’m going to need one of those $7 beers. Then he pitched and I said I needed a drink. (I didn’t get one though.) This bullpen will be the team’s downfall. I’m hoping they get some new arms.
