Ranting about Cousins, Diggs, fans and the media.

I would just like to point out, for the record, that the Vikings are 2-2, and have lost a close game on the road that, if you switch one throw, might have been a win, and lost another game in the house of horrors. Hardly the stuff of disasters.

But sweet bleepin hell, the state of this fanbase and the media that is paid to cover it is as bad as I have ever seen it.

Okay, with Cousins. It is clear that he is a permanent enemy for this fanbase and media. He is just being eviscerated 24/7 by everybody. If you even DARE to post something  even mildly supportive or sympathetic, you get bombarded with the "Kirk is trash" type responses. There is no hope for any rational, reasoned discussion of anything. You can't say ANYTHING anymore. I'm sorry, but as much as I thought Kirk played very poorly in Chicago, NO player deserves this kind of treatment. Antonio Brown was not treated this negatively by his team's fans. It's insane. It's disgusting.

Kirk is today what he was a year and a half ago when he signed the deal. He is a middle of the pack QB, who at his best can flash like one of the best. But if you listen to the way people talk about him now, he is the worst QB in the history of the NFL. People are pleading for the return of Case Keenum, and they aren't being satirical. They have convinced themselves of things that are blatantly untrue. And they lash out at anybody who contradicts them. It's like watching the Fox News indoctrination in sports.

Now Cousins is being savaged for apologizing to Thielen on his podcast for missing throws. Now, apologizing at all is kind of silly. Kirk didn't miss throws on purpose. But as a fan I appreciate that the leader of the team has that type of accountability, and would make it public. Part of the deal in sports is that you sometimes have to fall on the sword, even when losses are NOT exclusively your fault.

Oh, but his apology? It was all fake. He did it all for show. Didn't know that? Oh, well that's what the media says. Kirk is just pretending to be sorry. He doesn't think he did anything wrong, and only did this to try to trick us all into thinking that he feels this way, that he is a good leader. Well that's what the media says, and the media is never ever wrong. I mean, didn't you know Kirk is like 5-27 against winning teams. And that wins and losses are a QB stat. Oh they are. Media says so.

And now they are also trying to blame Kirk for us having to trade Stefon Diggs, even though that's both insane and also a trade has not happened, and from what I've seen, almost certainly can't happen due to what it would do to the cap.

Now, I don't know what's up with Diggs this year. He's been bad this year, and certainly seems moody. He has stopped talking to the media. He missed practice despite having no injury we know of. But a couple twitter randoms have said he is going to be traded, probably to the Patriots, so now people who should know better have run with it. But he is still very early into his contract. This isn't a Jalen Ramsey thing where he wants to get paid. He's paid. And he signed his extension months after we signed Kirk, so he obviously doesn't hate him. Kirk helped Diggs to career highs last year too.

Diggs is a little enigmatic, but he has done little if anything to ever indicate that he is going to be the next high profile diva receiver. If somehow he does wind up being traded, well, that sucks, but in theory anybody is tradeable if the return is good enough. But why would the Vikings trade a star player at a position where they have been thinned out by injuries?

But of course they would trade Diggs, cause according to the media Spielman and Zimmer are a couple of idiots who would make panic moves in a desperate bid to keep their jobs.

And they both deliberately ignored the OL problem, cause they didn't know the Bears defense is fierce. It couldn't actually be that they DID work to fix the OL, and, in games not against the Bears, that said moves have paid off.

The Vikings play the Giants this week, and should win. Few teams can do what the Bears do. The Giants don't play on cow pastures like the Packers and Bears do. And this team has routinely shown the ability to bounce back from tough losses. Sue me. I don't think a 2-2 start THAT I PREDICTED justifies all this sky is falling crap.
