NFL Week 17 recap

Thursday:

[Cowboys 27, Titans 13]

A nothing game. Titans treated it like a preseason game, since only their week 18 gave vs Jacksonville matters. Dallas is locked into the 5th seed unless the Eagles lose out.

Sunday:

[Lions 41, Bears 10]

Chicago flirted with competitiveness for a while before having their doors blown off by the Lions. Hope the Lions show up next week like this.

[Patriots 23, Dolphins 21]

The Patriots move into a wild card spot by edging the Teddy Bridgewater-led fish. Miami has now lost 5 straight games and now no longer control their destiny.

[Giants 38, Colts 10]

The Giants emphatically clinched the 6th seed by destroying the Colts. Nick Foles was awful in what might be the last game he ever plays.

[Browns 24, Commanders 10]

Ron Rivera should be fired. How can you justify punishing Taylor Heinicke for struggling against the 49ers defense, and hand your season's fate over to Carson Wentz? Well Wentz was a train wreck and got the Commies eliminated. Good job.

[Saints 20, Eagles 10]

Even with Minshew still in for Hurts this was pretty shocking. The Eagles were running away with the NFC just a few weeks ago but head to week 18 still having not wrapped up even their division.

[Buccaneers 30, Panthers 24]

Fuck the NFC South for enabling the creepy son kisser.

[Chiefs 27, Broncos 24]

The Chiefs continue to be weird. This was twice in a few weeks they let Denver almost beat them.

[Jaguars 31, Texans 3]

Jaguars kept rolling even though this game meant nothing for them, aside from keeping them alive for a wild card. I would be shocked if they don't seal the deal and win the south.

[Falcons 20, Cardinals 19]

This is a football game that happened.

[49ers 37, Raiders 34 OT]

Naturally the first QB in ages to look good against the 49ers was Jarrett Stidham. Sure. Still, the 49ers made the comeback and moved into the 2 seed, and could still be the 1.

[Seahawks 23, Jets 6]

Seattle kept their playoff hopes alive, and eliminated the Jets, who faded almost as bad as the Dolphins have.

[Chargers 31, Rams 10]

Chargers remain hot heading into the playoffs. These AFC wild cards all want that 5 seed.

[Steelers 16, Ravens 13]

The Steelers just won't give up. They looked headed for a top 5 pick early in the season, but just keep racking up ugly wins and now head to week 18 still alive for a wild card, and a win gives Mike Tomlin yet another winning season.

Monday:

[Bills-Bengals postponed]

Best wishes to Damar Hamlin. It's disgusting that the NFL was going to force them to resume the game, which they were despite the NFL PR team spin. As for the logistics of what to do with the game, just push the playoffs back a week if this game still matters after next week. All playoff teams get extra rest before the playoffs then.
