Biden drops out. Are we all fucked?

Well, the media did it. They forced Joe Biden out of his bid to get a 2nd term. On Sunday, the news bomb dropped that I still did not think was going to happen. Biden will no longer seek re-election, and he endorsed Kamala Harris.

My 1st feeling was pure anger. I already posted about how angry I was at what the media had been doing to Biden since that debate. My 1st thought was that this fucked America for good, and made another Trump presidency a certainty.

I'm still mad. I'll always be mad about the Trump-loving corporate media taking one debate (which Biden still won, since he actually, you know, told the truth) and blowing it preposterously out of proportion. The media's relentless pro-Trump anti-Biden coverage caused some prominent Democrats (and donors) to jump ship and call for Biden to drop out.

There are reasons why Biden just wouldn't want to see this through til November, let alone another 4 years after that. But the fact is that if it weren't for the media onslaught, he would not have left the race.

Harris is all but locked in as the nominee now. And she's great. I'll gladly vote for her, and she'd be a terrific president. 

But can she get there?

Look, the reality is that America remains a deeply racist and misogynistic country. And now the only thing standing between us and permanent dictatorship is a black woman.

We all saw how horrible 2016 got with the misogyny. And how racist the right wing approach to Obama was. Well, get ready, cause we're going to have the ultimate combo now.

And yes, Obama won twice, and Hilary did win the popular vote. And most of this country hates Trump. But the next 4 months are going to be terrifying.

Now, to end on a positive note, if Harris DOES win, how extra satisfying will it be to have Trump's last stab at political power denied by a black woman? Trump has made a lifetime of spewing racism, and of hating women, up to and including rape.

Harris will also have overcome an entire nation's media apparatus that is dead set on reinstalling Trump for ratings.

It would be the most impressive presidential election win in history.

Awful NFL season ends with awful Super Bowl

BUCCANEERS 31 CHIEFS 9 The 2020 NFL season is over. Thank god! A season that was almost across the board unenjoyable, and felt empty and largely felt manipulated, ended with the worst outcome imaginable. With a result that not only continues this 20 year nightmare but that will frankly hurt the NFL for years to come. I was not looking forward to this game. I knew this was going to happen. Maybe not in blowout fashion but I knew the NFL was going to see to it that Tom Brady got his 7th title. The house wins. The game was never fun. Right from the start the Chiefs seemed sleepy, like they weren't really in it. This team plays with swagger, but in this game they had none. Patrick Mahomes was under enormous pressure from the start. The Chiefs grabbed the 1st lead at 3-0 but then from basically the end of the 1st quarter until halftime it was a nightmare.
