Super Sunday. Is it over yet?

There is one absolute positive to this year's lead-up to the super bowl: It's been easy to ignore.

Last year all I wanted to do was forget about the.Patriots and that team that merc'd us in the NFC title game. But the game was here, so that was impossible.

I am not at all enthusiastic about this game today. The Patriots suck the joy out of everything they touch. I'm fine with the Rams, and I've enjoyed watching Saints fans make complete fools of themselves for the last 2 weeks, but I know what's coming.

There is one unavoidable reality here. There is no way the NFL will let the Rams beat the Patriots today. They will not let a team that, at least to many, is an illegitimate NFC champ. They want that controversy to disappear. They do not want the team that benefitted from that call to be crowned a champion.
And after all this league has done to slurp Brady over the years, do you really think they're going to let him lose back to back super bowls, and fall to a pedestrian 5-4 overall? Brady has the most wins. But a loss ties him with Jim Kelly for the most losses. The NFL will simply not allow this to happen. The biased officiating we saw in all those key moments in Kansas City will be out in full force tonight.

The ONLY reason I am not predicting a Patriots rout is that they've never blown a team out in the super bowl. 3, 3, 3, 4 and 6 are their margins of victory. They've played worse teams than these Rams. They've lost to worse teams than these Rams. But they will win today. They will get number 6 and keep on going.

34-27.
