PLAY BALL, YOU ASSHOLES!

Major League Baseball is going to destroy themselves. They may already have. 

While every other major sport seems to be moving heaven and earth in order to restart seasons or get delayed ones up and running, MLB has become a bunch of billionaires arguing with a bunch of millionaires, as the summer slips away entirely.

It's 94 all over again, but way worse. This time around everybody is making a shit ton more money. This time around everyone knows that a strike (or in this case a cancellation) can really happen. And of course this time around it is against the backdrop of the pandemic, where literally nobody has patience for a whole season being wiped out just because a whole bunch of rich guys can't suck it up and be a little less rich for one year.

This really is a both sides thing. Everybody looks bad. The owners probably look worse, just because some reportedly would PREFER no season at all. I don't think any players would prefer no season. 

MLB has already blown it. They were shooting for a 4th of July weekend return, which would have not only made it the first major sport back, but would have given it several weeks all to itself before NBA/NHL/WNBA/MLS resumed. Now even if they still get this thing going it will be late July before any return.

Nobody would have faulted this or any other league if it was determined that logistically it was just too much to pull off a return. It's NOT safe tbh.

But these assholes can't suck it up and play? 

Time is running out. Unless they plan to play deep into November or even December (necessitating southern ballparks), they have to get a season started by the end of July. But that includes scheduling whatever number of games that will be, and figuring out where they will play, and having some sort of second spring training to get players in shape again.

I thought the 82 game season with some expanded playoffs was best, but that's probably out the window now. 50 games might be the max we get. Yeah a 50 game MLB season is ridiculous, but with a postseason too it would at least be something. But even THAT feels like a 50-50 shot at best.

Major League Baseball will not recover from this if they.lose the season. No, I don't mean the league will fold or teams will fold or anything like that. But the NBA calendar may change permanently, pushing its playoffs deeper into not just this summer but every summer. MLB will have even less of the spotlight to itself, maybe none at all. 

And the hard feelings left over from a season disappearing won't soon be forgotten. Not even from me.

Awful NFL season ends with awful Super Bowl

BUCCANEERS 31 CHIEFS 9 The 2020 NFL season is over. Thank god! A season that was almost across the board unenjoyable, and felt empty and largely felt manipulated, ended with the worst outcome imaginable. With a result that not only continues this 20 year nightmare but that will frankly hurt the NFL for years to come. I was not looking forward to this game. I knew this was going to happen. Maybe not in blowout fashion but I knew the NFL was going to see to it that Tom Brady got his 7th title. The house wins. The game was never fun. Right from the start the Chiefs seemed sleepy, like they weren't really in it. This team plays with swagger, but in this game they had none. Patrick Mahomes was under enormous pressure from the start. The Chiefs grabbed the 1st lead at 3-0 but then from basically the end of the 1st quarter until halftime it was a nightmare.
