NFL Week 8 recap

Thursday:

[Ravens 27, Buccaneers 22]

I figured this set up too perfectly for a Tampa win, but the demise of Brady in fact continues. I still think they'll win the division even with just 7 or 8 wins, but I'll enjoy the struggles. Nice win for the Ravens on a short week on the road. Coupled with the Bengals losing Chase for a while they are likely back to being AFC North favorites.

Sunday:

[Broncos 21, Jaguars 17]

Russell Wilson returned but Denver's offense was still weak. Still were able to beat the plummeting Jaguars.

[Cowboys 49, Bears 29]

Did not expect this game to be a shootout. Dallas was always in control though. They're a scary team with that defense and a healthy Prescott.

[Dolphins 31, Lions 27]

Miami spotted the Lions a 14 point lead, but then the Lions did Lions things. Dolphins will be a tough out if they make the playoffs.

[Eagles 35, Steelers 13]

Yeah this was destined to be a blowout. Steelers have been sporadically competitive but not in this one. Eagles kind of blew them out without breaking a sweat.

[Patriots 22, Jets 17]

I knew the Patriots were going to rebound from that Chicago embarrassment. Jets were due for a loss.

[Saints 24, Raiders 0]

The story here is just how unbelievably pathetic the Raiders were. They didn't cross the 50 until the waning minutes. Josh McDaniels needs to be fired.

[Falcons 37, Panthers 34]

The battle.for 1st place in the NFC South (really) wound up being quite the shootout. Atlanta blew it late, but then the Panthers kicker blew the  would-be winning PAT and then a short field goal in OT.

[Titans 17, Texans 10]

A huge game from Derrick Henry got the Titans the win without Tannehill. Tennessee might be in position to run away with their division.

[Seahawks 27, Giants 13]

The clash of unexpected contenders was close the whole way until Seattle pulled away late. I think Seattle's reign atop their division will end soon but I suppose you have to have them in the mix for the playoffs.

[49ers 31, Rams 14]

I thought the Rams would win this one since the 49ers had no Deebo Samuel, but it didn't matter. The Rams honestly feel like they will miss the playoffs now, and I still think the 49ers are on any given day as good as anyone else in the NFC.

[Commanders 17, Colts 16]

Colts benched Matt Ryan, and almost won until Taylor Heinicke pulled off a late comeback. Colts are really a mess. How the hell did they beat the Chiefs?

[Bills 27, Packers 17]

As expected, not quite the blowout we might have hoped for, although at no point was Buffalo in any danger. Packers get the Lions this week, so expect their losing streak to end.

Monday:

[Browns 32, Bengals 13]

Joe Burrow turns into a mediocre QB when Ja'Marr Chase isn't out there.
