NFL Week 16 recap
Thursday:
[Jaguars 19, Jets 3]
Yep, this is happening. The Jaguars are going to make it to the playoffs. The Jets...aren't. They have imploded.
Saturday:
[Bills 35, Bears 13]
Buffalo easily dismantled the Bears in cold Chicago to hold on to the #1 seed. The only #1 the Bears are going for is the #1 pick.
[Panthers 37, Lions 23]
Considering the unearned cockiness from Lions fans and the annoying hype the media was giving them (while sitting on the Vikings all season) I quite enjoyed seeing Detroit get absolutely smoked. They gave up like 250 yards rushing in the first half. The Lions aren't finished but it will need to win out. Carolina actually has a chance still in the south, but we know the NFL won't allow Sam Darnold into the postseason over Brady.
[Chiefs 24, Seahawks 10]
Workmanlike Chiefs performance as they keep pace with Buffalo and stay ahead of the Bengals. Seattle's playoff hopes take another big hit.
[Bengals 22, Patriots 18]
Cincy got up big then almost blew it. They stay ahead of Baltimore. The Patriots are now on the brink of elimination. Glad we could do our part.
[Ravens 17, Falcons 9]
The Lamar-less Ravens just keep hanging on, and clinched a playoff berth. They can still be a dangerous playoff team if they get Jackson back. Atlanta is now eliminated.
[Texans 19, Titans 14]
The Titans collapse continues with their 5th straight loss, this one at home to the worst team in the league. They've lost Ryan Tannehill. They have actually fallen to 2nd in a tie with Jacksonville, who they will play for the division title in 2 weeks.
[Saints 17, Browns 10]
Cleveland got a well deserved elimination at home. The Saints stay alive in the division but just barely.
[49ers 37, Commanders 20]
The 49ers are the NFC's best team right now. It's kind of incredible how they haven't lost a step at all with Brock Purdy. The Commies even benched Taylor Heinicke it got so bad. They are still clinging to the 7th seed, and do have 2 games left that should be wins (Browns and a Dallas team that will likely have nothing to play for) but if they lose another game one of those 7-8 teams will probably steal that last spot.
[Cowboys 40, Eagles 34]
The Eagles started Gardner Minshew for the injured Jalen Hurts, yet still almost won in Dallas. That should be the end of the Hurts MVP candidacy.
[Steelers 13, Raiders 10]
The Steelers honored Franco Harris, then made a late rally.to win and keep their slim playoff hopes alive.
Sunday:
[Packers 26, Dolphins 20]
Fucking gross. Miami should have won this easily but just completely gave it away. First with a fumble before halftime, later as Tua Tagovailoa had maybe the worst 4th quarter from a supposedly good QB that I have ever seen, throwing 3 picks directly to Packer defenders on his side of the field. Naturally the media slurped the Packers and Rodgers over this. I am so sick of the double standards. Miami has lost 4 straight now and have gone from potential #1 seed to likely the #7 seed at best.
[Rams 51, Broncos 14]
Nathaniel Hackett finally got the axe after this latest fiasco, in which Denver allowed the Rams to score on every drive aside from a kneeldown, and players started fighting each other on the sideline. Will be curious to see what the Rams do with their QB job next year.
[Buccaneers 19, Cardinals 16 OT]
Fucking gross. Arizona leads 16-6 over a washed up piece of shit Tom Brady, then like clockwork chokes it away the same way the Saints did a few weeks ago. Tampa and their cadaver QB should be competing for the #1 draft pick but because the Brady Bullshit never fucking stops they could clinch a division title next week.
Monday:
[Chargers 20, Colts 3]
The Chargers clinched a wild card spot by easily beating the now Nick Foles-led Colts.
