NFL Week 18 recap

Saturday:

STEELERS 17, RAVENS 10

In a cold, driving rainstorm, the Ravens rested many of their starters (Laquon Treadwell played, say no more). And the Steelers were able to grind out a win that kept them alive for the playoffs, pending Sunday results.

TEXANS 23, COLTS 19

This was an elimination game, and the Cinderella Texans got it done, courtesy of a late drive led by ROY lock CJ Stroud, and some moronic coaching at the end by Shane Steichen, and a horrible dropped pass.

Sunday:

SAINTS 48, FALCONS 17

A close game at the half turned into a Saints rout. Arthur Smith will probably be fired.

BUCCANEERS 9, PANTHERS 0

Hey it got the job done. Tampa clinched the south, and improved their record following the loss of the fake GOAT. Carolina got shutout in back to back games to end the season.

TITANS 28, JAGUARS 20

The Jaguars were 8-3 and the 1 seed. And then...
Their collapse was completed by the long-eliminated Titans. And this clinched the AFC South for the Texans, and put the Steelers and Bills in the playoffs.

BENGALS 31, BROWNS 14

The Browns played reserves and got handled by the Bengals. Jake Browning threw 3 TDs in his last start.

JETS 17, PATRIOTS 3

In the snow, the lowly Jets handed Bill Belichick a loss in possibly his last game.

PACKERS 17, BEARS 9

Figures. The Bears had played well lately but decided to revert to shit and because of that the Packers get the vacated 7th seed. With the way Tony Romo slobbered over Jordan Love you'd think he would have put up more than 17 points.

SEAHAWKS 21, CARDINALS 20

Seattle was eliminated before this game was over, but they still eeked out the win with the Cards missing a field goal at the gun.

COWBOYS 38, COMMANDERS 10
GIANTS 27, EAGLES 10

In the battle for the NFC East crown, it was a runaway for the Cowboys. The Eagles meanwhile were never really in their game, and lost their 5th out of 6.

RAMS 21, 49ERS 20

The Rams actually rested a lot of guys, and started Carson Wentz, which almost knocked them down to the 7 seed. But Wentz led a nice comeback and the defense shut it down.

CHIEFS 13, CHARGERS 12
RAIDERS 27, BRONCOS 14

Neither game mattered. The Chiefs started Blaine Gabbert (how is he still in the league?) but won anyway.
The Raiders won again for Antonio Pierce.

BILLS 21, DOLPHINS 14

Most of the season was rough for the Bills and a breeze for the Dolphins. Yet still the AFC east ends up being won by the Bills after a dominant 4th quarter. Buffalo is right back up there as a prime super bowl contender.

PLAYOFF PREVIEW

As the 49ers and Ravens wait, we have a very intriguing wild card round.
In the NFC, I honestly can't wait to see Matthew Stafford and the Rams dissect the Lions. Dallas hosts the Packers, and hopefully the luckiest team in the league has their luck run out. And Tampa hosts the collapsing Eagles. How sweet would it be to have the Lions, Packers and Eagles all go one and done!

In the AFC, Buffalo should handle the Steelers easily. Dolphins at Chiefs is juicy, but the Chiefs just haven't looked right all year and seem destined to gonout quickly. I think the Browns could make a real run, so yeah I think they'll win at Houston.

Super Bowl pick? Well, my original Bills-Cowboys pick is alive, so why break from that now.
