NFL Week 5 recap

Thursday:

[Colts 12, Broncos 9 OT]

Damn, sure wish I had Amazon Prime so I could have watched every second of this. What in the hell has happened to Russell Wilson, seriously? If this is what he is now this might be the fastest collapse ever from a great QB. And Denver gave up 3 1sts, players, and a fortune for him. Yee-owwwch.

Sunday:

[Giants 27, Packers 22]

Is it possible the Packers are just not that good? Is it possible the Giants actually ARE good? By the time I woke up the Packers already had a multi-score lead, so I didn't even check in til late. But Rodgers had a couple chances to end the game and didn't and got burned. I have been tricked before into thinking the Packers are sinking for good, but the NFC North is very winnable.

[Patriots 29, Lions 0]

Lions had the highest scoring offense in football, then get blanked. So is this just a Lions moment or is Belichick getting his defensive swagger back?

[Buccaneers 21, Falcons 15]

I cannot believe it is October 2022 and NFL officials are still blatantly rigging games for Tom Brady.

[Bills 38, Steelers 3]

This was simply unfair. Buffalo remains the super bowl favorites.

[Titans 21, Commanders 17]

Pretty nondescript game, although the Titans seem like the least shitty AFC South team at the moment.

[Jets 40, Dolphins 17]

Miami keeps losing quarterbacks and with it their early heat as a contender. The Jets are 3-2 and looking competent.

[Saints 39, Seahawks 32]

That annoying Taysom Hill had a big game. Even in a loss this bizarre revival of Geno Smith continues.

[Chargers 30, Browns 28]

Some very idiotic coach and player decisions on both sides. Still have no idea what to make of either team.

[Texans 13, Jaguars 6]

Jacksonville had a 14 point lead in Philly last week. What a fall. When Trevor Lawrence is bad, boy is he bad.

[49ers 37, Panthers 15]

Matt Rhule got fired after this drubbing. Baker Mayfield has been a disaster and is now hurt. Enjoy the race for the #1 pick, Panthers.

[Cowboys 22, Rams 10]

Indeed, Cooper Rush may never lose if his defense never gives up more than 17 points in his starts. The Rams title hangover is very strong. Stafford looks awful. Even their wins have been meh. They might be struggling to make the playoffs.

[Eagles 20, Cardinals 17]

I thought this might be the Eagles first loss, but they grinded out the win. Arizona continues to be an enigma.

[Ravens 19, Bengals 17]

Ravens did just enough to avoid another home loss, and get an early edge on likely their only competition for a division title.

Monday:

[Chiefs 30, Raiders 29]

It's become comical how little it matters if the Chiefs are down by a couple scores early. You just knew Mahomes would get it done. Some Raiders stupidity helped. Josh McDaniels should not have got a second chance as a head coach.
