NFL Week 7 recap
Thursday:
[Cardinals 42, Saints 34]
Oh goody, the week before facing the Vikings Arizona suddenly decides to look formidable again. Although I doubt Kirk will get tagged for 2 pick sixes.
Sunday:
[Commanders 23, Packers 21]
Even on the bye week the Vikings get a big win! The Packers 2nd double digit lead blown in 3 weeks. They only scored 2 offensive TDs. Even a late push by the refs couldn't save them. And they have to play at Buffalo next week. Fabulous!
[Panthers 21, Buccaneers 3]
You know things have gotten very bad for Brady when even his media cheerleading squad can't find silver linings. Of course they ARE blaming his OL and a lack of run game. Nah, sorry, we've been told for 20 years that Brady does it all by himself. So this is all on him too.
[Cowboys 24, Lions 6]
That potent Lions offense from September has vanished. Dallas got Dak back, but the A story with them is that elite defense, which makes them a legit super bowl contender.
[Giants 23, Jaguars 17]
Giants keep it going, winning one of those games a surprise team "should" win. Granted they needed a tackle at the 1 to preserve the win, but the Giants are a legit team, well coached, and yet still may be only the 3rd best team in their own division.
[Bengals 35, Falcons 17]
A dominant game from Joe Burrow, who threw for almost 500 yards and never gave the Falcons a chance.
[Titans 19, Colts 10]
I feel like every AFC South matchup is a bland nothing. Matt Ryan was pretty bad in this, and lost his job. The Titans are easily the most stable team in that division.
[Ravens 23, Browns 20]
Hey look at that, the Ravens built a double digit second half lead at home and didn't blow it this time.
[Jets 16, Broncos 9]
Denver had no Russell Wilson, but their punchless offense looked mostly the same. Jets were not impressive, and lost their hotshot rookie running back.
[Raiders 38, Texans 20]
Raiders actually trailed in the 4th quarter but won going away. They're still likely buried already behind the Chiefs.
[Chiefs 44, 49ers 23]
This was one of the most impressive performances of the season. The Chiefs bounced back from the Buffalo loss, traveling out to the west coast to play the (well, probably former) #1 defense, and after spotting them a 10-0 lead dropped 44 on them. I know the Bills remain the favorites, but when Mahomes is on like this he is completely unbeatable.
[Seahawks 37, Chargers 23]
Okay, we really do have to just accept that this Geno Smith thing is for real. I can't even equate this to anything else I've seen, where a former bust turned backup becomes a starter again and excels. Maybe Jim Plunkett?
Monday:
[Bears 33, Patriots 14]
And with that I am officially done trying to figure out the NFL. Just when the Patriots were looking scary they let Justin Fields drop 33 on them at home.
