Twitter: The right wing haven

In my Twitter exile, where all I can do now is browse, I've noticed something interesting, though not at all surprising considering what was done to my accounts (and many others).

My personalized feed got obliterated too, so I click on any trending topic, or search any topic, and up pops a feed that is, presumably, the Twitter default. These are the tweets Twitter wants you to see, whether explicitly promoted or not.

So click on or search for anything politically based, and what pops up? A nonstop, relentless feed of nothing but right wingers. All those bottom feeder trash like Dana Loesch or Ben Shapiro or Laura Ingraham or any of the other Faux News psychos. Or of course the Trump crime family themselves.

That's it. That's what Twitter wants people to consume. Sure it can be avoided if you can pick and choose who you want to follow, or block, but when it comes to that middle ground of either moderates, or just people not that interested in politics, Twitter has decided that what they want people to see is nothing but the twisted perspective of the America-hating right. It's really no different than Facebook letting itself be used as a breeding ground for misinformation.

So no fucking wonder that liberal accounts on Twitter (not just mine at all, I'm one of many) are the ones that have been so routinely targeted by the almighty algorithms. Locked. Suspended. Censored. Sure, Twitter is a private company and can do what it wants (unlike 99.99% of the right I know what the 1st amendment actually entails), but they could at least be taken to task for this stuff.

It's absolutely insane what the right wing accounts get away with over there. Trump literally has threatened war on there and Twitter shrugs its shoulders. Nazis spew hate speech day in, day out, and nothing is ever done. Gun nuts celebrate the mass murder of children and nothing is done. But liberal thought gets snuffed out daily.

I don't know what Twitter's future business plan is, but those people are nuts if they think that it's good business long term to side with the right wing radicals above all else.
