NFL Week 13 recap

Thursday:

COWBOYS 41, SEAHAWKS 35

Seattle put up a much better fight than I would have expected, but Dallas was able to rally let to stay within reach of the Eagles.

Sunday:

LIONS 33, SAINTS 28

Another week where the Lions are exposed as the frauds they are, yet escape anyway. This time they jumped out to a big lead, and because Derek Carr got knocked out, were able to hold off a Saints comeback.

TEXANS 22, BRONCOS 17

The Broncos win streak ended in a close call at Houston. Russell Wilson threw 3 picks.

DOLPHINS 45, COMMANDERS 15

Miami dominated another inferior opponent, and actually finished the week as the AFC's #1 seed.

COLTS 31, TITANS 28 OT

Some major special teams blunders by the Titans helped the Colts escape with a win that kept them in a wild card spot.

CARDINALS 24, STEELERS 10

A massive failure by the Steelers, who were pretty much thoroughly handled at home by the then 2 win Cardinals. And they lost Kenny Pickett.

FALCONS 13, JETS 8

A most ugly of wins kept Atlanta in 1st place. The Jets QB carousel led to Tim Boyle and then Trevor Siemian.

CHARGERS 6, PATRIOTS 0

Hilarious. One of the season's few joys has been the complete collapse of the Patriots. They are the 1st team since 1938 to allow 10 points or less 3 straight games and lose all 3.

BUCCANEERS 21, PANTHERS 18

Carolina had a chance to pull off an upset, but they forgot to cover Mike Evans, and became the first team to be eliminated this year. I can hear Adam Thielen's regret from here.

49ERS 42, EAGLES 19

A stunning blowout. After a slow start the 49ers flipped a switch and the Eagles were just done. Eagles still have the #1 seed but this proves they are not invincible.

RAMS 36, BROWNS 19

Was hoping Joe Flacco could lead the Browns to the win, but a close game was blown open late. The Rams are 6-6 with an easy schedule left and are a safe bet to snag a wild card.

PACKERS 27, CHIEFS 19

Honestly, fuck the 2023 NFL season. I think this game was my breaking point. The Chiefs showed zero effort on defense in the 1st half, making Jordan Live look elite. Then they had numerous chances late to win, but naturally failed. And then there were the Lambeau Refs, allowing a blatant DPI to go uncalled that basically decided the game. So yeah, the Packers are still getting handed games by the refs even post-Rodgers. And of course this gifted win puts the Packers at 6-6, capping a HORRIBLE Sunday for the Vikings even though they didn't play.

Monday:

BENGALS 34, JAGUARS 31 OT

Jake Browning had a big game, and that plus an injury to Trevor Lawrence helped the Bengals pull off a big upset that keep them alive in the playoff race.
