NFL Week 15 recap
Thursday:
RAIDERS 63, CHARGERS 21
The axe came down on Brandon Staley's head after this embarrassing loss to the Raiders, who scored 63 more points (a franchise record) than they did 4 days earlier.
Saturday:
COLTS 30, STEELERS 13
The fast fading Steelers got handled by the Colts, who keep pace in the south. Could this be the final days for Mike Tomlin?
LIONS 42, BRONCOS 17
That's just great. So nice of the Broncos to choose this game to revert to early season form. I swear, that Lions playoff loss is gonna taste like premium prime rib.
Sunday:
BUCCANEERS 34, PACKERS 20
Exxxxxcellent! Baker Mayfield played one of the best games of his career, lighting up Lambeau. Massive loss for the Packers playoff hopes. Tampa stays atop the south.
BROWNS 20, BEARS 17
Joe Flacco had a rough start with several picks, but then he got all elite in the 4th quarter and led a big comeback. The Bears had a shot with a hail mary at the end but it was dropped.
PANTHERS 9, FALCONS 7
Played in a driving rainstorm in front of literally only a couple thousand people max. Carolina gets a walkoff field goal for just their 2nd win. A hugely damaging loss for the Falcons.
DOLPHINS 30, JETS 0
The Dolphins bounced back from their MNF collapse by smothering the once again hapless (and now eliminated) Jets.
SAINTS 24, GIANTS 6
The Tommy DeVito story hit a snag in a pretty non-competitive loss that basically finishes off the Giants. The Saints keep pace in the playoffs.
TEXANS 19, TITANS 16 OT
Case Keenum started for Houston and was quite bad. But Derrick Henry was worse for the now eliminated Titans. This one went to the OT gun.
CHIEFS 27, PATRIOTS 17
The Chiefs sort of got back on track with a convincing enough win over the bottoming out Patsies.
RAMS 28, COMMANDERS 20
The Rams controlled this game handily until the Commies tried a late rally. They got eliminated, and the Rams jumped up into the 7 seed.
49ERS 45, CARDINALS 29
The NFC's best team rolled another doomed opponent. Big offensive plays abound. The 49ers became the 1st team to clinch a division. Expect the 1 seed to follow.
BILLS 31, COWBOYS 10
The wagons are circling. The Bills followed up their big win in KC by destroying Dallas just as the Cowboys looked to be peaking. Buffalo still isn't in a playoff spot but if they get in they could be one of the all time most dangerous wild cards.
RAVENS 23, JAGUARS 7
Ravens hold onto the top seed with a workmanlike win over the stumbling Jaguars, who may not even win the south at this point.
Monday:
SEAHAWKS 20, EAGLES 17
Well that's just great. The one time I actually root for the Eagles they go and give up a game winning drive to Drew Lock. This result was a massive blow to the Vikings playoff hopes, since Seattle is now 7-7 with an easy finishing 3 games.
