NFL Week 16 recap

Thursday:

RAMS 30, SAINTS 22

The Rams solidified their playoff position with a pretty easy win over the Saints in what amounted almost to a pseudo playoff game itself.

Saturday:

STEELERS 34, BENGALS 11

A hugely surprising result, as the Steelers started Mason Rudolph and scored their most points in ages. A huge comedown for the Bengals after 3 big wins.

BILLS 24, CHARGERS 22

Got a little dicey, but the Bills got it done and kept alive the possibility of a week 18 showdown with Miami for the division title.

Sunday:

PACKERS 33, PANTHERS 30

Could have used the pick me up here, where the lowly Panthers made a big 4th quarter comeback to tie the Packers up. But the cheeseheads escaped with a field goal at the gun, because why wouldn't they.

SEAHAWKS 20, TITANS 17

Thanks for nothing, Titans. We needed them to hold their late lead, but for the 2nd straight week Seattle got a last minute game winning TD drive, which moved them into the 7 seed.

FALCONS 29, COLTS 10

Another surprising result, since the Falcons had been brutal lately. Big missed opportunity for the Colts to maybe catch Jacksonville.

BROWNS 36, TEXANS 22

Another big Joe Flacco game, as the Browns have now almost wrapped up a playoff spot. They will be a dangerous team in January if Flacco keeps this up.

JETS 30, COMMANDERS 28

A meaningless game, in which the Jets took a big lead, blew it all, then got a late field goal to win.

BUCCANEERS 30, JAGUARS 12

Tampa might actually be good. They win again, easily dispatching the collapsing Jaguars, who still almost can't not win their division.

BEARS 27, CARDINALS 16

Meaningless game, won fairly easily by the Bears, who staved off elimination.

DOLPHINS 22, COWBOYS 20

The marquee game of the day had both teams making late scoring drives. Miami just happened to do it last. Big loss for Dallas, who are likely confined to the wild card now and a trip to that Tampa team.

PATRIOTS 26, BRONCOS 23

Rough Christmas Eve for the home Broncos, who made a late push but still got beat at the gun by the lowly Patriots and Bailey Zappe. Very damaging loss for them.

Monday:

RAIDERS 20, CHIEFS 14

Okay, it's official now. The Chiefs just aren't that good this year. They were basically dominated by the Raiders, who have been much better since the coaching change and somehow still could win the division.

EAGLES 33, GIANTS 25

Eagles took care of business in a game made close by a couple defensive scores. Tommy DeVito got benched.

RAVENS 33, 49ERS 19

Brock Purdy went all Nick Mullens and threw 4 picks, which basically gave the 49ers no chance to keep pace with the Ravens, who would have to be #1 in all the power polls now. 49ers still have the #1 seed with 2 more wins.
