NOW sports are truly back, cause Minnesota sports had a shitty day.

Nothing brings a sense of normalcy with regards to sports quite like a day in which Minnesota sports really takes it in the teeth. So now it feels like pro sports are truly back.

First we see the Twins 6 game win streak abruptly end as Taylor Rogers blows a save in a loss to lowly Pittsburgh.

And at the same time a country away we see the Wild put forth just an embarrassingly feeble effort in a swing game 3 of their play-in playoff series against Vancouver, losing 3-0 and now facing elimination.

The Twins loss obviously carries far less doom. They basically lost just because Kenta Maeda threw one bad pitch and the Pirates got a bunch of garbage hits off Rogers that found a hole. There was also some bad managing by Baldelli (you ALWAYS walk the guy to set up the double play with 1 out). But through 2 weeks the Twins have emphatically proven themselves to be one of the best teams in baseball, a lock for the playoffs, and a good bet to finally end the drought of no playoff wins (cause I don't see how they could POSSIBLY draw the Yankees in the first round again).

As for the Wild, they had long ago been a hot team just a point out of a playoff spot when the season shut down. They get this reprieve, this chance to claim a real playoff spot. They travel to Canada, quarantine, all of that....and now have given next to no effort in the last 2 games. And today, in a game 3 of a tied best of 5, where the winner is overwhelmingly likely to win the series, they completely shit the bed with one of the most pitiful efforts I have ever seen. Why did they even bother?

The Wild season will end in game 4 tomorrow. They seem to want it that way.
